Described in Smalls "History of the UP Congregations" as an Antiburgher congregation, the church was founded around 1765. (This chart shows the main mergers/separations within the Scottish churches)
Shown on the OS maps in 1853 as a UP Church, it is referenced in the Kirk of Calder War Memorial page as "Bridgend United Free". By around 1960 it is no longer marked on OS maps.
