The Chapel was created in 1829 after the passing of the Catholic Emancipation Act allowing Roman Catholics freedom to worship in public. At Traquair, the former Billiard Room was converted. It is Victorian in style with the pews for servants and estate workers and a separate screened area at the back for the family.Mass is held in Traquair's Chapel at 7pm on the last Thursday of every month, April to September. Please note that in June and September mass at Traquair is on the last Wednesday instead of Thursday. All are very welcome.
