"LLANGANTEN, a parish in the hundred of Builth, county Brecon, 2 miles N.W. of Builth, its post town, and 3 N.E. of Llangammarch. It is situated on the bank of the Chweffru, which falls into the Yrfon, a tributary of the Wye. Llewellyn was killed in this neighbourhood. The Yrfon is crossed by a bridge a short distance above its junction with the Wye. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of St. David's, value £64, in the patronage of the bishop. The church is dedicated to St. Catherine, and stands on the brink of the stream.
