"PENROSE, a parish in the lower division of the hundred of Ragland, county Monmouth, 6 miles W. of Monmouth, its post town, and 3 N. of Ragland. The village, which is of small extent, is wholly agricultural. The living is a perpetual curacy in the diocese of Llandaff, value £94, in the patronage of the dean and chapter.
