In 1868, the parish of St Nicholas contained the following places:
"ST. NICHOLAS, a parish in the hundred of Dewisland, county Pembroke, 4 miles S.W. of Fishguard, its post town, and 12 from St. David's. The village, which is of small extent, is situated near the coast. The living is a vicarage annexed to that of Granston, in the diocese of St. David's. There is a place of worship for the Independents. The tithes were commuted in 1839. There are traces of a cromlech in the neighbourhood.
