Men and manners in Tudor Plymouth
Trans. Devon. Assoc. vol. 14, (1882), pp. 603-630.
by
R.N. Worth
Prepared by Michael Steer
This paper, presented at the Association's July 1882 Crediton meeting is predecessor to the author's 1883 paper that focussed on life in Plymouth during the Stuart period. Most of the content has been extracted from the Corporation's Receivers' Accounts from 1486 to 1601-2, and an interesting commentary is provided for many entries. Google with the Archive Organization has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. The Internet Archive makes available, in its Community Texts Collection (originally known as Open Source Books), books that have been digitised by Google from a number of libraries. These are books on which copyright has expired, and are available free for educational and research use. This rare book was produced from a copy held by the University of Michigan Library, and is available from the Internet Archive.
