The National Gazetteer of Great Britain and Ireland - 1868

In 1868, the parish of Kilmademoge contained the following places:

"KILMADEMOGE, a parish in the barony of Fassadinin, county Kilkenny, province of Leinster, Ireland, 5 miles S.W. of Castlecomer, its post town. It is about 1 mile square. The surface consists chiefly of good land. It is drained towards the S. by the Dinane river. The parish is crossed by the road from Castlecomer to Kilkenny. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Ossory, value with Mothell, £450, in the patronage of the bishop. There is a day school.
