The current building was opened in 1727, replacing the older medieval building, St Mary's, which had fallen into disrepair. The older building, and graveyard, were positioned slightly to the north, but are no longer visible.
Further details, and photographs, are available from Canmore.
By January 2022, the property was listed for sale by the Church of Scotland, with the parish continuing to use the churches at Mayfield and Newtongrange.
OPRs (Old Parish Registers) are available from 1618 (Births), 1642 (Marriages) and 1696 (Deaths), although there are substantial gaps.
Details of the gaps, omissions, etc, can be found on the NRS.
